Canada Post's Minimum Density rules

  All Canada Post postal outlets measure any package "larger than a phonebook".

  If the package exceeds it's weight rating for it's size, minimum density will apply.

So what does this mean?...

  You pay by dimensional weight.

For example, a 5-pound box shipped air parcel from Vancouver to San Francisco would cost $16.40, but if the parcel measured 14" x 12" x 12", it'd be "measured" as 12 lbs. and cost $23.80.....
